Valory’s wholly-owned Blackstone Project is an underground, hard coking coal exploration project consisting of 16 neighbouring mining lease applications. Over 100 drill holes intersecting the target seams have served to return a JORC Inferred Resource of 175 million tonnes while test work has confirmed the potential for a premium product matching Canadian and Australian exporters (CSR 65+%; Vol 21.5%; RoMax 1.23-1.51; MV64 likely specification). Blackstone is located on provincially owned commercial timber plantation within an industrial region that supports quarrying, oil and gas drilling and sulphur production. The project has multiple rail and port access options.

In 2022, the Alberta Government announced that all coal exploration and development will be restricted across the Eastern Slopes in all four coal categories. As a result of this decision, all exploration and development on Blackstone has ceased.

Black Eagle Mining, a 100% subsidiary Valory Resources Inc, filed a statement of claim on January 24, 2023, with the Government of Alberta filing its statement of Defence on March 24, 2023.  A case management judge has been appointed to oversee this and certain other related litigation against the Government of Alberta, which is expected to result in case management direction about how the actions against the Government of Alberta are to proceed. This matter is ongoing.
